Geometric Style Pottery is an evolution of the Proto-Geometric Style (11th-10th century BCE). It is characterized by strict, simple and orderly patterns of painted decoration against a light background. The vessels ornamented with horizontal bands and in between them such patterns as meander, zigzags, triangles ans swastikas. The Patterns appear all over the vessel, a phenomenon known as the Horror Vacui. Between the 9th and 8th centuries BCE, human and animal figures appear in the main registers in scenes from everyday life or the mythical world.
