The Iron Age


The Iron Age is one of the most turbulent periods under discussion in the archaeology of the Southern Levant. It begins with the decline of the major empires and kingdoms of the Late Bronze Age and the emerging of new nations. The influence of Ancient Egypt and incursions of major forces into the Southern Levant. 
The Iron Age is subdivided into several periods:
    The Iron Age I, ca. 1200/1150-1000/950 BCE
    The Iron Age IIA, ca. 1000/950-800 BCE
    The Iron Age IIB, ca. 800-700 BCE
    The Iron Age IIC. ca. 700-586 BCE
