Red Slip Hand Burnished Ware

This ceramic family is characterized by a red slip and burnish done by hand without use of a wheel, therefore the burnish decoration is uneven and is well noticeable. This type of burnish appears only in the Iron Age IIA. The decoration can be found on the inner and outer part of the vessels. This type of pottery can be found throughout the southern Levant with slight differences.
