Line Painted Ware

The Line Painted ceramic ware are dated to the Early Bronze Age I. This ceramic family originates from the central mountain area of the Holy Land. It is comprised mainly of juglets and bowls and can be found most often in tombs. The line decorations are painted in a variety of patterns such as vertical lines, or a net or grid patterns. The stripes were either painted directly on the clay or the vessel was first covered with white slip and then painted.
